Floor Leader Wayne Olap is an educator and public servant from the Mortlocks Islands in Chuuk. Born on July 12, 1974, he has dedicated his career to education, leadership, and community development.
Floor Leader Olap began his professional career as a teacher at Saramen Chuuk Academy, where he served from 1998 to 2007. He later became a part-time instructor at the College of Micronesia-FSM Chuuk Campus from 2007-2013. In 2013, he was appointed Principal of Saramen Chuuk Academy, leading the school and overseeing its daily operations while continuing to teach students.
Since 2020, Floor Leader Olap has served as a member of both the Ways and Means Committee and the Education Committee in the Chuuk State Legislature. In 2021, he was elected Floor Leader of the House of Representatives, where he helps manage legislative sessions, guides parliamentary procedures, and supports the passage of bills and resolutions.
Through his years of service in education and government, Floor Leader Olap has demonstrated a strong commitment to improving opportunities for the people of the Mortlock Islands and the wider Chuuk community.
