Hon. Jessy Petewen William

Representative

Honorable Jessy Petewen William was born on October 20, 1976, in Chuuk, Federated States of Micronesia. A devoted public servant, community leader, and lifelong Catholic, he has dedicated much of his life to serving the people of Chuuk through government, church, and community organizations.

Honorable William currently serves as a member of the 18th Chuuk State Legislature (CSL), where he is Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee and a member of the Judiciary and Governmental Operations (JGO) Committee. Throughout his legislative career, spanning from the 12th to the 18th CSL, he has held numerous leadership positions, including Chairman of the JGO Committee, Chairman of the Transportation, Communication and Public Works Committee, and Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee. He also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Pacific Island Legislatures (APIL).

Before entering public office, Honorable William built a diverse professional career in banking, law enforcement, public health, accounting, and business. His experience includes serving as a Customer Service and Loan Officer with the Bank of Guam, a Police Officer with the Chuuk State Department of Public Safety, a Peer Educator for the HIV/AIDS Program, and an Assistant Accounting Clerk with AWM Incorporation.

The Honorable William pursued his education in both Chuuk and Guam, attending Guam Community College after completing his secondary education. His commitment to faith and community service has been equally significant. As a lifelong member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral Parish, he has served as President of the Cathedral Parish since 2019, Chairman of the Vicariate Planning and Program Committee, Special Ordinary Eucharistic Minister, and President of the Chuuk Catholic Youth for Christ. He has also led numerous parish projects and ministries dedicated to strengthening the Catholic community throughout Chuuk.  

Known for his dedication to public service, family values, and faith, Honorable Jessy Petewen William remains committed to improving the lives of the people of Chuuk and contributing to the development of his community and nation.
