The Honorable Junior Nomau is a dedicated public servant representing the Northern Namoneas Region of Chuuk State (Weno, Fono-ton, and Pis-Paneu). With more than three decades of experience in public administration, government service, community leadership, and legislative affairs, he has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to serving the people of Chuuk. He currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Federal and Foreign Affairs Committee in the 18th Chuuk State Legislature.
Born on August 5, 1973, Mr. Nomau is a Micronesian citizen and graduate of Chuuk High School, where he received the Outstanding Senior Award. He furthered his education at the College of Micronesia–FSM, attending both the Chuuk and Pohnpei campuses.
Mr. Nomau’s career began in the hospitality sector before transitioning into government service. He held positions with the Weno Municipal Government, Chuuk Public Utility Corporation, FSM Postal Services, and several departments of the Chuuk State Government. His extensive administrative and leadership experience includes serving as Public Information Officer, Management Services Officer, Hospital Administrator for the Department of Health Services, and Chief of Public Works for the Department of Transportation and Public Works.
His legislative service spans multiple terms in the Chuuk State House of Representatives, beginning with the 7th Chuuk State Legislature. He has served as Vice-Chairman of the Resources & Development Committee, the Health & Welfare Committee, and currently the Federal & Foreign Affairs Committee.
Beyond government service, Mr. Nomau has remained actively involved in community and faith-based leadership. He served as a member of the Weno Municipal Council and the Chuuk Housing Board of Directors and has been an Assistant Pastor of the Chuukese Biblical Discipleship Church since 2006.
Deeply committed to public service, Representative Nomau continues to advocate for the development and well-being of the people of Chuuk State and the Federated States of Micronesia.
